Jenna & Scott’s fall engagement session was perfection. When I met with Jenna during a consultation at the studio, she mentioned the Scott had several hundred acres of land near the Oklahoma border, and asked what I thought about shooting their engagement session there. Of course, I was super excited about the opportunity to shoot in a new, fresh location. I always encourage people to think of a location that has some meaning to them for their engagement shoot. I find that couples have a deeper connection to the photos, and the are more likely to open up and share their personalities when they are in a familiar spot. Sometimes it can be where they got engaged. Or where they first met. And in this case, this land was so meaningful to Scott that it was an obvious location choice for us. We arrived and started shooting at the most amazing rocky creek bed. I came prepared with my big water boots, so I was able to crouch in the middle of the water to show the perspective from the rocks. We then headed up to Scott’s hunting cabin, hopped on a four wheeler, and scouted some of the best places for photographs. And I have to say, any girl that can ride a four wheeler in an evening gown is a definite keeper! This shoot was just so much fun- I love that Jenna and Scott were open for anything during this shoot- and it makes me even more excited for their wedding next October at The Ballroom at I Street.
